iOnTRAVEL Somerset is aimed at developers, businesses and travel plan coordinators.
iOnTRAVEL helps:
✔ Ensure you comply with planning permissions
✔ Project manage the preparation, approval and operation of a travel plan
✔ Verify that the measures you have chosen to meet your targets will be suitable for influencing how people travel
✔ Track the implementation of measures to support smarter travel choices using the built-in reminder, action tracking and outcome recording systems
✔ Analyse the outcomes and rewards being achieved
✔ Calculate and produce annual reports, and record progress in reducing the CO2 emissions arising from travel to work
✔ Communicate with Somerset Council directly to help manage and monitor your travel plan
The tool is suitable for all types of business and development - employment, residential, and visitor-based - and can help track progress in managing commuting, travel in the course of work, and visitor arrivals.
iOnTRAVEL is also now for sale to other authorities and individual businesses to use or adapt
Using iOnTRAVEL for planning applications in Somerset
- iOnTRAVEL is a compulsory part of travel plan submissions in Somerset.
STEP 1. Register as a new user or log-in as an existing user (top right)
✔ You will be granted access to iOnTRAVEL Somerset, and will be able to register a travel plan site name
STEP 2. Enter basic information about your proposed development and how it will operate
✔ A dedicated area for your own travel plan(s) will then be set up
STEP 3. Submit your travel plan to Somerset Council for review and acceptance
STEP 4. Input a series of modal share targets from your accepted travel plan
STEP 5. Input a series of actions from your accepted travel plan
* Full approval of your travel plan is conditional upon a Steps 1 to 5 being completed prior to the commencement of the development
